Crafty Christmas inspirations

For all those fashionistas who are really Martha Stewarts at heart here are a few deco ideas to try should you be stuck for some.

Those of you appreciate all things rustic why not create some fun focal points they make great conversation points too.

This is very easy idea with what to do with candles especially the table's centre piece.It is very simple and remember your not limited to the traditional red cherry branches.You may want to be a bit more inventive and spray /paint some  soft twig branches a colour complementing you theme.

Suprise your guests with creative food and drinks and food this time around my guess is they will not only be back for more but be delightfully suprised.

Not everyone drinks heavy liquer so my advice is an sweet cranberry cocktail crafted in classy cool glass.

My Christmas wish

Hello all loyal coolhunterg followers.Yes I know I haven't been on the blog for a while but life's been quick stop train up until now.It has been hectic and with another tough life lesson under my belt I have decided to embrace the coming of the new year with an open happy heart.Taking a well deserved and relaxed breather from the mad craze that is last minute Christmas shopping.(honestly sometimes I swear some people are stocking up for the great drought this time of year!)Buying everything and extra the shopping lists become endless scrolls of  absolute must haves!Now though I might be an advocate of  style and fashion my hope is that we all don't lose sight of Christmas' real meaning and that is to gather with friends and family in joyous harmony.So that's said the gift that Santa should drop off at my door this year is love,the the most precious gift that costs nor dollar or dime.Have a blessed Christmas and an exiting New Year all ...........love coolhunterg

The sun,the sea and the...........

 Summer is basically here and I have enough exuse to find myself close to the sea most of the time.(Chilling in da sun in my bikini sporting my million dollar hot babe look!)Anyhoo on Sunday I went for a walk along beach rd. promenade in Sea Point and the view of the ocean had me realise once again why every shade of blue are no doubt my favourite colors.

Out a little later on the same day me my sister and her two  little tods found ourselves squizzing about at the Millnerton Sunday Craft Market.And then because my eyes are always keen to spot even trinklet size treasures I snapped a pic just for my obsession's sake.The market runs every Sunday and it mostly stocks bric and brac garage sale style goodies if you will.IT still makes for fascinating market browsing and finding some really amazing decor item is not that far fetched an idea.So go have look next time you in the area ,yeah!Cheerio coolhunter G

First find a reason to celebrate and throw a party.Invite all your bffs over and chill your sensuous selves into spring with sexy cocktails and fab' fashion chatter.As fashion are all about that boho vibe with the likes of free flowy maxi dresses this season ,chilled gettogethers with your favourite people should take a special place on your must -do list this spring/summer 2011. Cocktails whether alchoholic or not are a great way to keep cool beside the pool ...and at the braai a icy cool shift away from the usual lager.Xperiment and make your own it's easy and fun .The Long island ice tea in the pic above is simply gin,tequila,light rum,vodka and sours in tots shaken together...........and voila you are sippin away island style.Enjoy all you fashionable people and till nex time chill.....cheerio coolhunter G

I am inlove with this top mostly dig the tribal print and style............sooooooooh coolhunter G baby!

 The Bohemian trend is still alive and kicking us back into eras bygone ........when some of our mummies and daddies were young.My mom rocked a really cool stylish flowerchild look as did my dad.The bell bottoms and clogs ,draped luxe fabric dresses for those free living gatherings and festivals.Their pictures tells us all.I thinks its about time I go raid that cupboard of mum's and see if there is anything I can bring into the now .......in a fresh new way ofcourse.

 This dress is just great as it is not your typical maxi.....love the style,pure romance.

 This looks a bit frumpy to me to 'mummish'........sorry this does not get my cool vote.I can't decide whether or not it is her pose.........mmmh.

Fring is all the mad rage.....top tip:for casual summer snip an old tee's bottom half into fringy strips.cheerio for now and do look out for some more cool trend updates.

Vamped up vintage!

Elements of the color blue softens the space ..........how gorgeous is that wallpaper?

 I think the cute little cups and saucers are really amazing and quite unique and the throw pillows are stylish wants too.The fabric design is beautiful textile design personified.

I pippity popped into the Vamp decor store the other day on my walk along Salt River.Vamp has been around for a bit but has  recently moved to Salt River right next to Re-create.I met with the the very friendly owner who told me that the store really is an extension of her passion for collecting awesome retro decor items.For someone who has worked in event planning before she certainly has a knack for interior decorating as well given the store's awesome look.

The clever displays tell a new story bringing together old an new in a  fresh way.In other words witty combining of rare retro items with modern pieces .Kitchy cool dolls ,ceramics and teapots adorn the display cabinets making for very fascinating browsing.

This caught my eye ,I love the blue and white and how is that blue jug............love it.The shop is quite cosy however would have loved if there  was more light in the back room where there are retro furnishings like stunning wood furniture and these giant navy crocheted circular rugs really pulled at my heart strings......cheerio ,coolhunter G
